As a tourist you might be arriving by plane especially when you are not from France. If you want to arrive in Chartres as soon as possible, get a flight that will get you to Orly International Airport. Compared to the bigger, more popular Charles de Gaul International Airport, you’ll be able to arrive in Chartres in less than an hour. From Orly, you can just get rent a car if you want to go through various places in Chartres. Or you can hail a cab to get to Chartres in no time. The bad thing is, most of the flights go to the Charles de Gaul and Orly could be a little bit expensive.

The travel itself could be part of the fun as you’ll have time to look at the sceneries before arriving in Chartres. Once you arrive there, you can easily identify the train station from where you’ll get off. Every hour a train leaves for charters and they’re pretty punctual when it comes to this. Be sure to arrive in time or else you’ll have to catch the next train.
If you’re arriving in a group of six or more, you’ll even have an advantage of getting there faster. You can get a shuttle that will take you directly to Chartres in no time. It’s going to be a lot cheaper than to get an individual ticket by train.
